Plugged Festival welcomed its first-ever hip-hop act, paving the way for a new wave of performers. The 2019 edition brought a dash of suspense as we nearly faced a potential scheduling hiccup with one of the bands on the program. Stuck in traffic, their timely arrival was uncertain. Remarkably, they made it just 10 minutes before showtime, leaving no time for a soundcheck. Yet, they brushed it off and simply plugged in, delivering an unforgettable performance that stole the show. Canshaker Pi took the headlining slot that year, and they etched their name in the music scene. From stages like Eurosonic Noorderslag to Zwarte Cross, Appelpop, and receiving a 2019 Album of the Year nomination, their influence extended to a European tour.
But the magic of 2019 didn’t stop there; it also graced us with the best weather in Plugged history. The record-breaking attendance was a testament to the stunning weather, with nearly 3000 visitors reveling in the sunshine and infectious festival vibes.
