DOTAN

Dutch singer/songwriter Dotan broke through in 2014 with the massive hit “Home,” from his second album 7 Layers. His new album A Little Light in the Dark will be released on Friday, October 25, and is a clear continuation of the recognizable folk sound that defines Dotan. For this record, he returned to basics—letting the songs speak for themselves and avoiding overly polished production. Upbeat tracks like “Louder” and “Diamonds in My Chest” have already received plenty of airplay on Dutch radio, but the softer songs are also full of nostalgia and dreaminess.

MOOD BORED

Mood Bored is an indie-rock trio based in The Netherlands. With their punchy bass lines, guitar driven melodies and infectious hooks, they construct a sonic landscape that evokes the rush of glittering dance floors, while dreamy vocals and introspective lyrics recall the existentialism of those late-night conversations in the party bathroom. Shifting maniacally between sentiments of near-nihilistic cynicism to earnest hopefulness, Mood Bored articulates what it feels like to be a young adult in a digital era of perpetual chaos.
Who said an existential crisis can’t be fun?

ORANGE SKYLINE

Orange Skyline, the young indie band from Groningen, draws inspiration from ’60s rock ’n’ roll and modern garage rock. The result is a recognizable and catchy sound that instantly convinces. And it works—Orange Skyline was named a 3FM Serious Talent and won the Groningen Pop Prize. In early 2015, the band caught the attention of the Dutch music industry during their performance at Noorderslag in their hometown, after which they were tipped as one of the most promising acts of 2015.
